- 1 teaspoon baking soda

- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest (from about 2 lemons)
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour a loaf pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and poppy seeds.
- In another bowl, whisk melted butter, eggs, buttermilk, lemon zest, and lemon juice.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
