Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh herbs (such as rosemary and thyme), chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. In another bowl, mix warm water, minced garlic, and chopped herbs.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until combined.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it sit for 12 to 18 hours at room temperature.
  5. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a Dutch oven inside to heat up.
  6. Once the dough has risen, turn it onto a floured surface and shape it into a ball.
  7. Carefully remove the hot Dutch oven, place the dough inside, and cover it.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes covered, then remove the lid and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  9. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.
