Description

A delicious grilled cheese sandwich with creamy avocado and a blend of mozzarella and cheddar.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves (optional)

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  2. In a bowl, mash the avocado and mix in mayonnaise, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread the avocado mixture on the unbuttered side of two bread slices.
  4. Layer mozzarella and cheddar cheese on top of the avocado mixture.
  5. Add fresh basil leaves if using.
  6. Top with the other two bread slices, buttered side up.
  7. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Grill the sandwiches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  8. Remove from heat, slice, and serve warm.
