Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup smoked cheese, cubed (such as gouda)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  3. Mix until well combined.
  4. Take a small amount of the mixture and place a cube of smoked cheese in the center.
  5. Form the meat around the cheese, creating a ball.
  6. Repeat until all mixture is used.
  7. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  8. Brown the meatballs on all sides for about 5 minutes.
  9. Transfer browned meatballs to a baking sheet.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until cooked through.
