Description

A creamy and cheesy classic pasta dish.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook elbow macaroni according to package instructions.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add flour and stir for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in cheese until melted.
  6. Combine cheese sauce with macaroni.
  7. Transfer to a baking dish and top with panko bread crumbs.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add cooked bacon or vegetables.
