Description
A hearty casserole that combines the flavors of cabbage rolls with the convenience of a slow cooker.
Ingredients

- 1 large head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef or turkey in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
- In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, rice, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
- Add the meat mixture to the cabbage mixture and stir well.
- Pour the mixture into the crockpot.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- If using cheese, sprinkle on top during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
Notes
- Feel free to add other vegetables for more flavor.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to three days.
