Description
This crab and shrimp seafood bisque is a rich and creamy soup packed with fresh seafood flavors.
Ingredients
- Crab meat: 1 cup
- Shrimp: 1 cup, peeled and deveined
- Butter: 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Onion: 1, diced
- Celery: 1 stalk, diced
- Carrots: 1, diced
- Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
- Tomato paste: 2 tablespoons
- Flour: 2 tablespoons
- Seafood or chicken broth: 4 cups
- Heavy cream: 1 cup
- Old Bay seasoning: 1 tablespoon
- Paprika: 1 teaspoon
- Bay leaf: 1
- Salt: to taste
- Pepper: to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives: for garnish
- Lemon wedges: for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add onion, celery, and carrots. Sauté until softened.
- Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Stir in tomato paste and flour. Cook for 2 minutes.
- Slowly add broth while stirring to prevent lumps.
- Add Old Bay seasoning, paprika, bay leaf, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Stir in shrimp and crab meat. Cook until shrimp is pink.
- Remove bay leaf and stir in heavy cream. Heat through.
- Serve hot, garnished with parsley or chives and lemon wedges.
