Description
A delicious Chicken Philly Cheese Steak recipe that combines tender chicken, sautéed vegetables, and melted cheese.

- 1 1/2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs), thinly sliced against the grain
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons olive oil, divided (plus more as needed)
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 bell peppers (green and red), thinly sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt, plus more to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 6–8 slices provolone (or white American)
- 4 hoagie rolls, split (lightly toasted optional)
- Optional spreads: garlic-herb mayo, Dijon, or a pat of butter
Instructions
- Heat 1 teaspoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until browned and cooked through. Remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and butter. Sauté the onions and bell peppers until softened.
- Add garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for an additional minute.
- Return the chicken to the skillet. Mix well. Season with salt and pepper.
- Top the chicken mixture with slices of cheese. Cover until melted.
- Serve the mixture in hoagie rolls with optional spreads.
Notes
- Adjust seasonings to taste.
- Use leftover chicken for a quicker meal.
