Ingredients

  • ½ cup Brown Sugar 103g
  • ¼ cup Granulated Sugar 50g
  • 1 Egg Large
  • 1 teaspoon Almond Extract
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Soda
  • ½ teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 4 teaspoon Cornstarch
  • 1½ cups All Purpose Flour 180g
  • 1 cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips about 6 ounces
  • ½ cup Maraschino Cherries chopped and drained

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the cold butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  3. Add the egg and almond extract. Mix until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the salt, baking soda, baking powder, cornstarch, and flour.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until well combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped cherries.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on a wire rack.
