Description

Cheeseburger Pretzel Bombs are a delicious combination of ground beef, cheddar cheese, and soft pretzel dough, perfect for snacking.


Ingredients

  • Ground Beef: 1 lb, cooked with onions and seasoned with ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish
  • Cheddar Cheese: 1 cup, shredded
  • Warm Water: 1 1/2 cups
  • Active Dry Yeast: 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp)
  • Granulated Sugar: 1/4 cup
  • All-Purpose Flour: 4 cups
  • Salt: 1 tsp
  • Unsalted Butter: 1/4 cup, melted
  • Water: 10 cups
  • Baking Soda: 2/3 cup
  • Egg: 1, beaten
  • Coarse Sea Salt: for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook ground beef with onions. Season with ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish.
  3. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  4. Add melted butter and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in flour until a dough forms.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.
  6. Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  7. Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball and fill with beef and cheese mixture.
  8. Seal the dough around the filling and shape into a ball.
  9. Boil 10 cups of water with baking soda.
  10. Drop pretzel bombs into the boiling water for 30 seconds each.
  11. Place on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle coarse sea salt.
  12. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
