Cheeseburger Pretzel Bombs are a delicious combination of ground beef, cheddar cheese, and soft pretzel dough, perfect for snacking.
Ingredients
- Ground Beef: 1 lb, cooked with onions and seasoned with ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish
- Cheddar Cheese: 1 cup, shredded
- Warm Water: 1 1/2 cups
- Active Dry Yeast: 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp)
- Granulated Sugar: 1/4 cup
- All-Purpose Flour: 4 cups
- Salt: 1 tsp
- Unsalted Butter: 1/4 cup, melted
- Water: 10 cups
- Baking Soda: 2/3 cup
- Egg: 1, beaten
- Coarse Sea Salt: for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a skillet, cook ground beef with onions. Season with ketchup, mustard, and pickle relish.
- In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in flour until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball and fill with beef and cheese mixture.
- Seal the dough around the filling and shape into a ball.
- Boil 10 cups of water with baking soda.
- Drop pretzel bombs into the boiling water for 30 seconds each.
- Place on a baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle coarse sea salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add your favorite seasonings to the ground beef.
- Serve with mustard or dipping sauce.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
