Description

A delicious caramel apple pecan cobbler that combines the sweetness of apples, the crunch of pecans, and a rich caramel sauce.


Ingredients

  • 9 apples, peel, core and slice (I used Granny Smith)
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • ¾ cup butter ( sticks)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • ⅔ cup sugar
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, cut into small pieces
  • ⅔ cup boiling water
  • 3 tablespoon sugar (for additional topping)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (for additional topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix sliced apples with brown sugar, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, and chopped pecans.
  3. Spread the apple mixture in a greased baking dish.
  4. In a saucepan, melt butter for the caramel sauce over medium heat.
  5. Add light brown sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to the melted butter. Stir until combined.
  6. Pour the caramel sauce over the apple mixture in the baking dish.
  7. In another bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  8. Add small pieces of butter and mix until crumbly.
  9. Stir in boiling water until well combined.
  10. Drop spoonfuls of the topping over the apple filling.
  11. Mix additional sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl and sprinkle over the topping.
  12. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the topping is golden brown.

  • Serve warm with ice cream for added flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
