A simple and delicious dessert featuring layers of apple pie filling, caramel, and yellow cake mix.


Ingredients

  • 2 20-ounce cans apple pie filling
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 cups Kraft caramels, unwrapped and cut in half
  • 1 box dry yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, cut into 1/4 inch thick pats

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the apple pie filling in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon and nutmeg over the apple filling.
  4. Evenly distribute the cut caramels over the apple filling.
  5. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix on top of the caramels.
  6. Place the butter pats evenly on top of the cake mix.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
