Description

Delicious blackened shrimp tacos with a fresh slaw.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound of large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 2 cups of shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup of shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup of mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add shrimp to the spice mix and toss to coat evenly.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until blackened and cooked through.
  5. In another bowl, mix cabbage, carrots, cilantro, mayonnaise, lime juice, salt, and pepper to make the slaw.
  6. Warm tortillas in a separate skillet or microwave.
  7. Assemble tacos by placing shrimp in tortillas and topping with slaw.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne for desired spice level.
  • Use fresh lime juice for best flavor.
  • Store leftover slaw separately.
