Description

Vanilla Magic Custard Cake is a delightful dessert that transforms into three layers during baking: a light sponge on top, a creamy custard in the middle, and a dense custard base.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 cups milk, warmed to lukewarm
  • 1 and 1/4 cups (150 g) confectioners’ sugar, sifted
  • 4 eggs, yolks and whites separated
  • 1 tablespoon purified water
  • 1 cup (115 g) all-purpose flour, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • Confectioners’ sugar for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the melted butter and warm milk.
  4. Add the confectioners’ sugar and mix until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat egg yolks with water, then add to the butter and milk mixture.
  6. Sift flour into the mixture and stir until combined.
  7. Gently fold in the egg whites until just incorporated.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
  9. Bake for 40-50 minutes until the top is golden.
  10. Let it cool and dust with confectioners’ sugar before serving.
