A sweet and crunchy snack mix perfect for parties or gifts. Combines Chex cereal, nuts, and pretzels with a rich toffee coating.

- 12.8 oz box Rice or Corn Chex Cereal
- 3 cups assorted nuts (pecans, almonds, peanuts, etc.)
- 3 cups pretzel thins (or mini knots)
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups dark brown sugar
- 3/4 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250°F.
- Combine Chex cereal, nuts, and pretzels in a large bowl.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir in brown sugar, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- Boil for 4 minutes without stirring.
- Remove from heat. Add vanilla and baking soda, stirring quickly.
- Pour the toffee mixture over the cereal mix. Toss to coat evenly.
- Spread on a baking sheet. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Let cool completely before breaking into pieces.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
- Use a large bowl to ensure even coating.
