Ingredients

  • 1 store-bought pie crust (or homemade)
  • 1 egg white lightly beaten (for brushing)
  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips semi-sweet or bittersweet
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 ½ cups pecan halves toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the pie crust in a pie dish and brush with beaten egg white.
  3. Melt the chocolate chips in a bowl over simmering water or in the microwave.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, corn syrup, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt.
  5. Stir in the melted chocolate until combined.
  6. Add the toasted pecans to the filling mixture and mix well.
  7. Pour the filling into the prepared crust.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is set.
  9. Let the pie cool before slicing.
