- 2 teaspoons active dry yeast

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting

- 1 large egg, at room temperature
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for the filling)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the filling)
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for the glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for the glaze)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for the glaze)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix warm milk, yeast, and granulated sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl. Cover it and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and roll it out to 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut out donut shapes and place them on a baking sheet. Let them rise for 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer. Fry the donuts until golden brown.
- Mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract for the filling.
- Fill the donuts with cream cheese mixture and strawberry jam.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract. Dip the tops of the donuts in the glaze.
