  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 3 tbsp pure maple syrup (for icing)
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (for icing)
  • 1/4 tsp maple extract (for icing)
  • A pinch of kosher salt (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and maple extract. Mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Mix until combined.
  6. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  8. Let cookies cool on a wire rack.
  9. To make the icing, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, melted butter, maple extract, and salt.
  10. Drizzle icing over cooled cookies.
