Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in the caramel bits.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Sprinkle each cookie lightly with sea salt.
  9. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  10. Let cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
