Description

Rich Chicken Stroganoff is a creamy and savory dish featuring tender chicken and mushrooms.


Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breast halves
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, as desired
  • Flour, for coating
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra as needed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for sauce)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp dijon mustard (or add to taste)
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce (or to taste)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2/3 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup full-fat sour cream

Instructions

  1. Season chicken with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Coat chicken in flour.
  3. Heat 2 tbsp olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Cook chicken until golden and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same pan, add 1 tbsp olive oil and 1 tbsp butter.
  6. Add mushrooms and onion, cooking until soft, about 5 minutes.
  7. Stir in dijon mustard, worcestershire sauce, and garlic. Cook for 1 minute.
  8. Add chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
  9. Reduce heat and stir in sour cream until smooth.
  10. Return chicken to the pan and heat through.
  11. Serve hot over noodles or rice.
