Delicious red velvet cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting.

- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 ¼ tsp) instant yeast
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup warm milk (110°F)

- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
- ¾ cup brown sugar (for filling)
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon (for filling)
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened (for frosting)
- ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened (for frosting)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for frosting)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for frosting consistency)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, yeast, and salt.
- Add warm milk, melted butter, egg, vanilla extract, and red food coloring. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- In a separate bowl, mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the cinnamon filling evenly on top.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut it into rolls.
- Place rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- For the frosting, beat cream cheese, softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and milk until smooth.
- Spread frosting over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.

- Ensure the milk is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
- Adjust milk in frosting for desired consistency.
