Description

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 thick slices sturdy bread such as sourdough or Italian
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
  • 24 thin slices pepperoni

Instructions

  1. Mix butter, parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt in a bowl to make garlic butter.
  2. Spread garlic butter on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Place 4 bread slices butter-side down in the skillet.
  5. Top each bread slice with mozzarella, pizza sauce, and pepperoni.
  6. Cover with the remaining bread slices, butter-side up.
  7. Cook until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until cheese melts.
  8. Remove from heat, slice, and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use fresh mozzarella for better melt.
  • Adjust pepperoni quantity to taste.
  • Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
