A quick and flavorful side dish featuring crisp green beans tossed in a spicy garlic-ginger sauce, inspired by P.F. Chang’s.

- 12–16 ounces fresh green beans, trimmed
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
- 1 ½ teaspoons granulated sugar or honey
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons toasted sesame oil
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Instructions
- Blanch green beans in boiling water for 2 minutes, then drain and rinse with cold water.
- Whisk soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sugar, cornstarch, and water in a bowl.
- Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add green beans and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
- Pour the sauce over the green beans. Cook for another 2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and serve hot.
Notes
- Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spice level.
- Use tamari for a gluten-free option.
- Toast sesame seeds for extra flavor.
