Description

A delicious pecan upside down cake with a rich caramel flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1 pack instant vanilla pudding
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick butter (melted)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup pecans
  • Non-stick baking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with non-stick baking spray.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, instant vanilla pudding, eggs, vegetable oil, and water.
  4. Mix until the batter is smooth.
  5. In another bowl, mix the melted butter and light brown sugar until combined.
  6. Spread the brown sugar mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared pan.
  7. Sprinkle the pecans over the brown sugar mixture.
  8. Pour the cake batter over the pecans and brown sugar layer.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  10. Let the cake cool for a few minutes, then invert onto a serving plate.
