- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade mix)
- ⅔ cup tomato sauce or salsa
- Salt & pepper to taste
- 8 hard taco shells
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or Mexican blend)
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- ½ cup diced tomatoes
- ¼ cup diced red onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro (optional)
- Sour cream (optional)
- Guacamole (optional)
- Jalapeño slices (optional)
- Hot sauce (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned.
- Add diced onion and garlic to the skillet and sauté until softened.
- Stir in taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Cook for a few minutes until heated through.
- Place taco shells in a baking dish.
- Fill each taco shell with the beef mixture.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted.
- Remove from the oven and top with lettuce, tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, and any additional toppings you like.
- Serve warm with sour cream, guacamole, jalapeños, and hot sauce if desired.
