  • ¾ cup (150g) sugar
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • ½ cup (120ml) fresh orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • ½ cup (120ml) milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar (optional for glaze)
  • 23 tablespoons fresh orange juice (optional for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in orange juice, orange zest, milk, and vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  10. If making the glaze, mix powdered sugar with orange juice and drizzle over the cooled cake.
