- 12 lasagna noodles
- 1–1/4 lbs Italian sausage or ground beef
- 1 (24-oz) jar spaghetti sauce
- 2 (8-oz) cans tomato sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 (24-oz) container cottage cheese
- 1 (8-oz) block of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sour cream
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 Tbsp dried parsley
- 1 lb mozzarella cheese slices
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- Brown Italian sausage or ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in spaghetti sauce, tomato sauce, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix cottage cheese, cream cheese, sour cream, beaten egg, and parsley.
- Layer noodles, meat sauce, cheese mixture, and mozzarella slices in a baking dish.
- Repeat layers, ending with mozzarella and parmesan cheese on top.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use lean ground turkey and reduced-fat cheeses.
- Can be prepared ahead and refrigerated before baking.
- Freezes well for up to 3 months.
