Description

A low-carb twist on the classic Philly cheesesteak, this casserole combines ground beef, bell peppers, onions, and plenty of cheese for a hearty and satisfying meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 large onion, diced
  • 2 large bell peppers (green, red, or a mix), diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 8 oz (1 package) cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 oz provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1½ cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add diced onion and bell peppers. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  6. Drain excess fat from the skillet.
  7. Stir in cream cheese and Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  10. Layer provolone cheese slices on top.
  11. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the provolone.
  12. Bake for 20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. Let cool slightly before serving.

  • Use lean ground beef to reduce excess fat.
  • For extra flavor, add mushrooms or jalapeños.
