Description

Homemade Crock Pot Yogurt is a simple recipe that allows you to make creamy yogurt at home using a slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 1 gallon whole milk
  • 1/2 cup yogurt with active, live cultures

Instructions

  1. Pour the whole milk into the crock pot.
  2. Cover and cook on low for 2.5 hours.
  3. Turn off the crock pot and unplug it. Let it cool for 3 hours.
  4. Mix the yogurt with a small amount of the warm milk in a bowl.
  5. Add the yogurt mixture back into the crock pot and stir well.
  6. Cover the crock pot with a towel and let it sit for 8-12 hours.
  7. Once done, transfer the yogurt to containers and refrigerate.

Notes

  • Use a thermometer to check milk temperature.
  • Make sure the yogurt has no additives.
