Description

Garlic Butter Steak & Cheddar Potato Bake features tender steaks layered with cheesy, buttery potatoes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • Ribeye or sirloin steaks
  • 4 large Russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (about 1/8 inch thick)
  • 2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded (sharp or extra-sharp)
  • 6 tablespoons Butter (real butter)
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Dried thyme (plus extra for seasoning)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried rosemary (plus extra for seasoning)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Season the steaks with salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
  4. Sear the steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned.
  5. Remove steaks and let them rest.
  6. In the same skillet, add butter and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant.
  7. In a baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes.
  8. Pour half of the garlic butter over the potatoes and sprinkle with half of the cheese.
  9. Layer the remaining potatoes and pour the rest of the garlic butter on top.
  10. Place the steaks on top of the potatoes and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  11. Bake for 45-50 minutes until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.

Notes

  • Let the dish cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Feel free to add other herbs to your preference.
