Description

French Toast Muffins are a delicious breakfast treat that combines the flavors of classic French toast with the convenience of muffins. Perfect for busy mornings or brunch gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher sea salt
  • 6 cups dried cubed bread (white, challah, brioche, croissants or cinnamon raisin)
  • 1/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin or line it with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Add the dried cubed bread to the mixture and gently stir until all the bread is well coated. Let it sit for 10 minutes to absorb the liquid.
  4. While the bread is soaking, prepare the topping. In a small bowl, mix the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Spoon the bread mixture into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 3/4 full.
  6. Sprinkle the topping evenly over each muffin.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the muffins are golden brown and set.
  8. Allow the muffins to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use day-old bread for best results.
  • You can add raisins or nuts for extra texture and flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
