A delicious pastry filled with apple and cream cheese, enhanced with espresso.

- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
- 1 large apple, thinly sliced
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon brewed espresso or strong coffee
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Optional: powdered sugar and milk for glaze
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a floured surface.
- Cut the pastry into squares or rectangles.
- In a bowl, mix cream cheese, granulated sugar, brown sugar, espresso, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and lemon juice until smooth.
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry piece.
- Add a few slices of apple on top of the cream cheese.
- Fold the pastry over to create a pocket and seal the edges.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly, then glaze with powdered sugar and milk if desired.
Notes
- Use a sharp knife for slicing apples.
- Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing.
- Serve warm for best flavor.
