Ingredients

  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • ⅔ cup butter
  • ½ cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • Extra chopped pecans (optional)
  • Sea salt flakes (optional)
  • Drizzled caramel sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, brown sugar, and butter for the crust until crumbly.
  3. Press crust mixture into a greased 9×9-inch baking pan.
  4. Bake crust for 15 minutes.
  5. Melt butter and brown sugar for the caramel layer, stir in pecans.
  6. Pour caramel pecan layer over the crust.
  7. Bake for another 15 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot bars, let melt, then spread evenly.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
  10. Garnish with extra pecans, sea salt, or caramel if desired.
