Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1 ½ tablespoons lemon juice (fresh is best)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice (or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon nutmeg)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Spread the apple pie filling evenly in a baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle lemon juice and vanilla extract over the filling.
  4. Add the apple pie spice or cinnamon and nutmeg.
  5. Cover the filling with the butter cake mix.
  6. Slice the butter and place it evenly on top of the cake mix.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.
