  • Colored sanding sugar for rolling
  • Pastel chocolate buttons or candy-coated chocolates (like M&Ms or Hershey’s Drops!)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and coat them in colored sanding sugar.
  7. Place the dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Press a pastel chocolate button into the center of each cookie.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
