Crispy Meat Pies filled with savory ground beef and vegetables.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup cold butter, cubed
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small potato, diced
- 1/2 cup diced carrots
- 1/2 cup peas
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
- Add cold butter and mix until crumbly.
- Stir in cold water until dough forms.
- Knead the dough briefly and wrap in plastic. Chill for 30 minutes.
- In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned.
- Add potato, carrots, peas, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until vegetables are tender.
- Roll out dough and cut circles.
- Place filling on half of each circle and fold over. Seal edges.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry pies until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and brush with egg wash.
Notes
- You can add other vegetables as desired.
- Make sure the oil is hot before frying.
