- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups Panko
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 12 ounces low moisture mozzarella cheese, cut into pieces 3-inch x ¾ inch (or 12 oz string cheese cut in half)
- Homemade marinara, for dipping
- 1 quart vegetable oil
Instructions
- Cut mozzarella cheese into sticks (or use halved string cheese).
- Mix flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in a shallow bowl.
- Beat eggs in another bowl.
- Combine Panko and Italian seasoning in a third bowl.
- Coat each cheese stick in flour, dip in egg, then roll in Panko mixture.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry sticks in batches for 30-45 seconds until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with marinara sauce.
Notes
- Freeze breaded sticks for 30 minutes before frying for extra crispiness.
- Use a thermometer to maintain oil temperature.
- Serve immediately for best texture.
