Description

A delicious and easy-to-make chicken cheesesteak recipe with tender chicken, melted provolone, and sautéed peppers and onions.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb. or 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Your favorite all-purpose seasoning or salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika
  • 2 tbsp. olive or grapeseed oil
  • 2 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, sliced or diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced or diced
  • 1 yellow onion, sliced or diced
  • 8 provolone slices
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 recipe garlic aioli or mayo

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with your preferred seasoning.
  2. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat and cook the chicken until fully done.
  3. Remove chicken, slice thinly, and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté bell peppers and onions until soft.
  5. Add sliced chicken back to the pan and mix well.
  6. Top with provolone slices and let melt.
  7. Toast the hoagie rolls lightly.
  8. Spread garlic aioli or mayo on the rolls.
  9. Fill the rolls with the chicken, cheese, and vegetable mixture.
  10. Serve immediately.

  • Adjust seasoning to taste.
  • Use any type of cheese you prefer.
  • For extra flavor, add jalapeños or hot sauce.
