This recipe makes classic homemade orange candy using fresh oranges.
Ingredients

- 3 small oranges or tangelos (about 18–20 slices)
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 3 cups water
Instructions
- Slice the oranges or tangelos into thin slices.
- In a pot, combine the sugar and water. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the orange slices to the pot.
- Simmer on low heat for about 1 hour.
- Remove the slices and place them on a rack to dry.
- Once dry, coat the slices in additional sugar if desired.

- Store the candy in an airtight container.
- Use fresh fruit for the best flavor.
