Description

A rich and indulgent chocolate caramel dump cake topped with chocolate ganache.


Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix (approx. 15.25 oz)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks or chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Optional: Chocolate shavings
  • Optional: Chopped nuts or toffee bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the chocolate cake mix, eggs, milk, melted butter, baking powder, and sour cream until combined.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Drizzle caramel sauce over the batter.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. While the cake is baking, prepare the ganache by heating heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering.
  7. Remove from heat and add chocolate chunks, stirring until melted and smooth.
  8. Once the cake is baked, pour the ganache over the top.
  9. Top with chocolate shavings or nuts if desired.
  10. Let it cool slightly before serving.
