  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
  • 4 brioche burger buns
  • 8 dill pickle slices
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 small tomato (sliced, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, and onion powder. Add chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt, cayenne, and black pepper.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Remove chicken from marinade and dredge in the flour mixture. Shake off excess.
  5. Fry chicken in hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  6. In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, hot sauce, lemon juice, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and honey (if using).
  7. Assemble the sandwich with fried chicken, sauce, pickles, lettuce, and optional tomato on brioche buns.
