- 4 cups Yukon Gold or red potatoes, washed and thinly sliced or cubed
- 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons green onions or chives, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your campfire or grill.
- Prepare a large piece of aluminum foil.
- Layer the sliced or cubed potatoes in the center of the foil.
- Add melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper over the potatoes.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Fold the foil tightly to create a packet.
- Place the packet on hot coals or grill for about 30-40 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
- Carefully open the packet and garnish with chopped green onions or chives before serving.
