Description

A hearty baked beans and ground beef casserole with a sweet and tangy flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and diced (optional)
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 30 oz can pork and beans (undrained)
  • 1 tbsp salted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced green bell pepper, yellow onion, and jalapeño. Cook until softened.
  4. Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and yellow mustard.
  5. Add the pork and beans to the mixture and combine well.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and dot the top with salted butter.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until bubbly.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the spice level by adding more or less jalapeño.
  • Serve with cornbread for a complete meal.
