Delicious Apple Caramel Bombs filled with spiced apples and gooey caramel.

- For the Apple Filling:
- 2 medium apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- For the Dough:
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough or 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 8 soft caramel candies (or 8 teaspoons thick caramel sauce)
- For Brushing:
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- For the Caramel Glaze:
- ½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- Pinch of sea salt (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and add diced apples.
- Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract, and flour. Cook until apples are tender.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- If using biscuit dough, separate into individual biscuits. If using puff pastry, roll it out and cut into squares.
- Place a spoonful of apple filling and a caramel candy in the center of each dough piece.
- Fold the dough over the filling and seal the edges tightly.
- Place the bombs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Mix melted butter, granulated sugar, and cinnamon. Brush over the tops of the bombs.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- While baking, mix caramel sauce, heavy cream, and sea salt in a small saucepan over low heat until smooth.
- Drizzle the caramel glaze over the warm bombs before serving.
